Modern Desert Story

In 2023 I travelled to Jordan to document the changing lives of the Bedouin people in the Wadi Rum desert. Known for its stunning landscapes, Wadi Rum attracts over 250,000 tourists annually. While a few older generations of Bedouins still live nomadically, most have settled in the village of Wadi Rum, home to around 2,000 people from the Zalabieh Tribe.

This photography project highlights the transition from traditional desert nomadism to a more modern lifestyle. It captures the unique blend of heritage and adaptation as Bedouins navigate the pressures of modernity while preserving their cultural roots. The project aims to provide an authentic, visual narrative of life in Wadi Rum.
